Within the system of the United Methodist Church it is my pleasure, as the Chairman of the SPRC (Staff-Parish Relations Committee) to announce the appointment by Bishop Marcus Matthews of Rev. Christopher Owens as our new Minister beginning his responsibilities as of July 1, 2015. Our congregation's Staff-Parish Relations committee has met with the District Superintendent to identify our congregation's needs and the needed skills in a pastor. We have also met with Pastor Christopher Owens to get to know him and to ask questions. He grew up in southern Anne Arundel County, attended Lothian UMC as a teenager and graduated from Towson State University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English with a secondary school teaching certificate. However, he answered the call to ministry and attended Wesley Theological Seminary graduating in 2001. He is coming to Trinity from the Baltimore/Washington Conference headquarters. He is married to Blairlee and they have three children, two girls and a boy.
